Announcing the Location of the Fargo-Moorhead Science Museum

Big News! Where Will the Fargo-Moorhead Science Museum Be?

The Fargo-Moorhead Science Museum (FMSM) is excited to announce the future FMSM location in the south Fargo Urban Plains Development. After receiving a generous land donation from Brandt Holdings Co., the Fargo-Moorhead Science Museum will move forward with a planned 63,500 square foot museum, located at the intersection of Seter Parkway and 31st Ave S, southwest of Scheels Arena. This museum’s future home will reside in the heart of this welcoming and thriving development in south Fargo, offering local and regional visitors accessibility to the 25-acre Brandt Park that includes nearly a one-half mile stretch water feature, the opportunity to enjoy an abundance of new and existing retail businesses and restaurants, and efficient travel from I-94, Veterans Boulevard, and 32nd Ave S.

Josey Balenger, Executive Director of the Fargo-Moorhead Science Museum stated, “We are overjoyed to finally be able to share the location of the future museum at Urban Plains!” She adds, “On behalf of myself and the Board of Directors, we are humbled and thankful to Brandt Holdings for this incredible gift. This anchors the foundation for the success of the Fargo-Moorhead Science Museum. We are excited to start this journey with generous partners and we’re looking forward to seeing the Urban Plains development grow into a one-of-a-kind destination neighborhood for the FM community.”

“The team at Brandt Holdings Co. has coordinated a new master plan for the southwest portion of the Urban Plains development in south Fargo. We are proud to announce the addition of the Fargo-Moorhead Science Museum to that neighborhood. They will be a key element in fulfilling Ace Brandt’s legacy, and we are grateful to make this donation of land to our communities,” says Randy Johnson, Director of Asset Strategy, Brandt Holdings Co.

With the confirmation of the FMSM’s future permanent home and a spring deployment of the mobile STEM Response Unit, partnered with the launch of a 70-million-dollar capital fundraising campaign, the Fargo-Moorhead Science Museum is projected to open to the community in early 2027.
